Supercharging a Partner’s CPD Offering

The Wandsworth City Learning Centre (WCLC) is one of the leading teacher training (for computing)  and managed service providers in South London. They are well known for taking on, and excelling in, exciting challenges with regard to all things related to technology in schools. WCLC wanted to explore ways of leveraging technological solutions to enable their training team to achieve even more in schools.

The Challenge

The WCLC training team have an established way of doing things that achieves amazing results. Any major shift in approach would have to be done in such a way that it would guarantee zero drop-off in service quality, in any way, for their schools.

The Solution

By leveraging the Olus Education student portal to support their training, the WCLC trainers will be able to ensure the students and teachers can achieve more (with less stress). All students and staff will receive in-depth, flexible support for the computing curriculum at a time that suits them via the student portal. The WCLC trainers will stay in touch with the school leadership throughout the support period to maintain an understanding of the depth of engagement across the school with the student portal. This will enable the trainers to provide laser-targeted training for different teachers and student groups in a way that is otherwise impossible. 

The Results

In this ongoing project, every student and teacher in every participating school is supported throughout the school week. The trainers will continue to build increasingly bespoke training plans for the school. Student engagement with key computing curriculum criteria and the device as a learning tool and will be tracked on a half termly basis.
